Live Music Takes Over Wall Street for the National Petroleum Day Tailgate
The National Petroleum Day Tailgate, presented by the Permian Basin International Oil Show (PBIOS), is bringing a full evening of live music to Wall Street in downtown Midland on Thursday, August 27.
From dance-floor favorites and funk to Texas country, honky-tonk and West Texas originals, the lineup offers a little bit of everything — with music continuing throughout the evening and a fireworks finale closing out the celebration.
5:30–6:30 p.m. - DJ
The evening gets started with a DJ setting the pace before the live bands take the stage. The DJ will also keep the music going between performances throughout the Tailgate.
6:30–8:00 p.m. - Groove City

Get ready to dance. Groove City brings a high-energy mix of Top 40 favorites, old-school R&B and plenty of funk.
8:00–9:30 p.m. - Jerry Hart & Flatland

Jerry Hart & Flatland bring more than 20 years of West Texas music experience to the Wall Street stage. The Midland-based band blends traditional Texas country and honky-tonk with Southern rock, pairing classic-country influences with a modern Texas sound.
9:30–11:00 p.m. - Robert Sullivan & Westbound Hearts

Closing out the live lineup is Robert Sullivan & Westbound Hearts, an Odessa-rooted band bringing a younger, high-energy edge to Texas country. Led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Robert Sullivan, Westbound Hearts combines original music, classic-country influences and a rowdy honky-tonk sound with plenty of West Texas grit.
10:30–10:45 p.m. - Fireworks Finale
And look up before you head home — the evening culminates with a fireworks finale over downtown Midland.

A New Off-Year Celebration for the PBIOS Community
Held during an off year for the Oil Show, the National Petroleum Day Tailgate gives PBIOS a new way to bring our exhibitors, attendees, sponsors, families, and industry partners together between show years.
This is a chance to celebrate the Permian Basin, reconnect with the people who keep this industry moving, and invite the broader community to experience the energy behind West Texas.
